Case 1 - Acrylic RPD,Endo,Direct post & composite build-up

Fractured teeth 12 and a few months later fractured 22. Lack of posterior occlusion - Periodontitis with mobility grade 2 on 14, 24
Treatment:
1- Upper acrylic denture made for patient to reduce occlusion load on anterior teeth
2- Periodontal therapy
3- Patient couldn't afford indirect post and crown but was really concern about her aesthetic and didn't want to extract her teeth - decided for Elective RCT on 12 and 22 followed by composite buildup.
4- Due to severe Perio, patient was advised to add teeth to the upper acrylic denture in case of another fracture or extraction of her upper teeth
5- Regular recall and Periodontal NST - patient is being treated by me for the past 3 years.

Patient has moved to Toowoomba in early 2020 but still comes to see me on the Gold coast for her dental treatments.

Case 2 - Full Denture

Patient was not happy about appearance of her teeth and experienced low esteem due to that - Periodontal disease existed on her female side of the family including her mother and sister - previously extracted most of her teeth because of periodontal abscess

Treatment:
1- Advised the patient to start periodontal therapy - referred to Periodontist
2- Hopeless diagnosis of 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, 23 by periodontist
3- Extraction of 13-23 and insertion of immediate upper full denture
4- Regular reline and adjustment of immediate denture for 4 months after extraction (to allow for bone remodeling)
5- Definitive full upper denture made and inserted, followed by 2 reviews in weekly and monthly intervals - patient is being treated by me for the past 2 years.

Above treatments increased patient's confidence as a single mum in a way that she started studying a degree at university and took control of her life. She also started taking her children's oral health more serious and brought her kids to me for check-ups and treatments.
